Rememberance

I gaze around my room,
I look for any small sign.
I search inside the dresser,
For anything left behind,
Any of his clothes...
I strain for the very scent of him,
Even in my pillows.
I try, desparately to remember,
Just when he'd last been here,
His heart beating against me,
His breath in my ear.
In this place, where our children were made,
I tear inside my brain,
I look for him inside me,
But there is nothing but the pain.
