AUTHOR'S NOTES:
Here is a quick poem I wrote this afternoon.( We had another snow day!) It is from Devon's point of view as she lays in cold sleep. ( Wow, I actually wrote something from a person, other than Alonzo and Julia's, point of view.) This poem is for my grandpa. Popsy: I love you and always will. You will be missed, but not forgotten. Your words may have been few, but your love and kindness was felt by everyone around you. I hope you feel no more pain.

I Live On
by Claire Campana

I wander along this land,
All alone.
They cannot see me.
But I am here.

They think me dead and continue on without me,
With tears in their eyes.
But I live on in their dreams.

I watch them suffer.
And my heart breaks every time they cry themselves to sleep.
If only they would allow me entrance into their dreams.

I try to speak to them.
But by letting fear and sadness have control,
They shut me out.

I hope someday my physical body will be healed.
But until that day,
I will live.
Wandering this land,
Searching,
For a way to break down the walls of of my friend's dreams.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Take my hand and lead me to salvation.
Take my love, for love is everlasting.
And remember the truth that once was spoken,
to love another person is to see the face of God.
