My Cat

All I ever really wanted
Was a little cat
Just a little furry thing
I could kiss and hug and pat.
I could name her "Kitty"
And she'd sleep on my bed
I should get one *some* day
At least that's what daddy said.
Devon said that there were cats on the ship
In embryonic freeze
I hope that ship gets here soon!
I want it, golly geez!
I wouldn't share with Uly
She's *my* cat after all.
I'd have to shut my door at night
So she don't wander down the hall.
Maybe I'd get a boy cat, too
I haven't decided yet;
But if they had kittens
My daddy'd get upset.
And maybe Uly, too
Could have a little pet
But since I asked before him,
The first one, *I* should get.
