Sometimes she pleads with teary eyes
She begs me not to let her die.
And though my love for her is true,
It seems there's nothing I can do
But lead my life without her there
She'll never know how much I care.
And in my dreams, she holds my heart,
Her sorrow tears my soul apart.
Why does she haunt me in my sleep,
Is she the shepherd, we the sheep?
Does she guide me on my way,
Or is there more to night and day?
How can I leave her behind,
When she won't leave my tortured mind?
