Earth 2 - The War
Setting: New Pacifica
Time Frame: 2195
Plot: The Council wants to take over the planet; they discovered the Terrian's secret, and they plan to annihilate them and the Grendlers. The Allies: the other humans, the Terrians, and the Grendlers have vowed to stop them.(ACT ONE)
Scene 1: One day in the No-Fire Zone (New Pacifica) at the Solace's.
Julia(She's Packing): What brings you here; we said good-bye last night remember?
Devon: I came to talk you out of it.
Julia: Don't waste your breath.
Devon: Julia, it's too dangerous.
Julia: And traveling here wasn't?
Devon: That was different there weren't missiles, bullets, and lasers flying everywhere.
Julia: You forgot bombs.
Devon: I'm serious.
Julia: I didn't expect any chauvinism from you.
Devon: That's not what it is.
Julia: You didn't try to talk Alonzo, Baines, and John out of going.
Devon: Yes I did; you just weren't there at the time.
Julia: Devon they need me.
Devon: There are other doctors who can go.
Julia: I'm going.
Devon: You've seen to many war movies.
Julia: I know what I'm getting in to.
Devon: No you don't.
Julia: Will you water my plants while I'm gone?
Devon: Geez you're stubborn.
Julia: Yeah well I've been hanging around you too much. (She finishes packing; enter her pilot).
Pilot: Are you ready to go?
Julia: Yeah, I'll be there in a minute.
Pilot: Okay. (He goes outside to wait).
Julia: Please water my plants for me.
Devon: Okay, no heroics while you're over there.
Julia: Just a few.
Devon (Frustrated): Julia I'm serious; you are not invincible.
Julia: I was just kidding; I'll come back in one piece I promise. (She hugs her and leaves).
Scene 2: Later at Devon's.
Devon: All of my friends are on the front lines.
Yale: Not all of them.
Devon: Most of them are. I thank God that Morgan is too scared to go; he's the only one using his head.
Yale: You'd be there to if you didn't have Uly and True to look after.
Devon: I don't believe in war.
Yale: You believe in what they're fighting for.
Devon: Thousands of people have already died. I'm scared to look at the casualty sheets now, because I keep thinking I'll see a name I know on them.
Yale: You're not going to lose anybody.
Devon: The lady across the street has already lost her husband and three of her children in battle, so don't sugar coat this for me all right. (She starts dinner. Meanwhile outside).
Bess: Hi guys.
True: Hi.
Uly: Oh hi.
Bess: What's wrong?
Uly: My mom couldn't talk Julia out of going.
Bess: I know; hey Julia's smart she won't take any unnecessary risks. She'll come home.
Uly: When in twenty years or thirty? Wars have lasted longer. (Morgan comes out of his and Bess' house).
Bess: What's with the suitcase?
Morgan: I have to go away for a little while.
Bess: Where?
Morgan: Where do you think?
Bess (She throws her grocery bag down): I can't believe this!!
Morgan: Honey.
Bess (Furious): You promised me you wouldn't go!!
Uly: Yeah.
Morgan: Can we be alone please?
True: You don't belong over there. (They go home).
Morgan: I have to go.
Bess (Furious): Why?
Morgan: What if Alonzo isn't at the place where Julia's going; who will look after her?
Bess (She simmers down): You come back safe to me okay.
Morgan: Okay. (They kiss and hug, and then he leaves. She starts crying. Later after dinner in Devon's living room).
Bess (Upset): Julia reminds him of his little sister who died. That's why he feels obligated to protect her, because he couldn't protect Maggie.
Devon: I know he told me. He'll be back this war isn't going to last forever. We're getting closer to victory every day. (She pours them each a mixed drink. Currently in the kitchen).
Yale: You have to finish your dinner.
Uly: I'm not hungry. (He goes upstairs to his bedroom. True goes after him. Moments later in his bedroom).
True: Let's play a VR game.
Uly: I don't want to.
True: They're not going to die Uly.
Uly: How do you know? (She sits down).
True: Okay you caught me; I'm scared too. (She starts crying; he hugs her).
Scene 3: One week later in one of the R&R and Hospital Zones, in the bar.
Morgan: You know I didn't expect there to be a party every night.
Julia: Me either but if it helps morale.
Morgan: Exactly.
Julia: You need to write Bess.
Morgan: I already wrote her today.
Julia: Good, maybe she can talk you into going home.
Morgan: I'll only leave if you do. (He pours her a cup of coffee).
John (Furious): What the hell are you doing here?!
Julia (She turns around to face him): Long time no see.
John (Furious): I told you to stay home.
Julia: Oh yeah, well you're not my father.
John (Furious): I wish the hell I was, because you sure as hell wouldn't be in the middle of a war zone!!
Julia (Angry): Go to hell you male chauvinist pig. (She starts to leave; he stops her and hugs her).
John: I'm sorry; it's good to see you. I just wish you would've listened to me.
Julia: I tried.
John: I know. Alonzo's going to kill me now; I promised him that I would keep you home.
Julia: How, you were over here?
John: It's impossible to lay a guilt trip on you, and where are you stationed?
Morgan: I decided to try bartending for awhile.
John: Good, keep it that way.
Julia: Do you have to be everybody's father? He's married for Heaven's sake. (A ship arrives carrying more dead and wounded. She rushes back to work).
John: Do me a favor.
Morgan: What is it?
John: Make sure she stays out of the combat zone.
Morgan: That's why I'm here.
John: How's Devon, Uly, and True? (He fills him in on everything).
Scene 4: Later on one of the hospital wards, after the wounded have been tended to.
Alonzo: You scared the hell out of me man.
Baines: Hey, it's going to take more than one bullet to do me in.
Alonzo: At least you get to go home.
Baines: I don't want to go home; who will watch your back?
Alonzo: Hanson will.
Baines (He spots Julia): I can't believe it.
Alonzo: What?
Baines: Look over to your right. (He looks and sees Julia; she doesn't see him yet. He approaches her and starts kissing her neck).
Julia: Alonzo? (She turns around).
Alonzo: Damn I've missed you. (He takes her in his arms and continues kissing her).
Dr. Kramer: Do you two want to take this outside?
Baines: Shut up!! They haven't seen each other in over a year!! (Later in her quarters, after they've made love).
Alonzo (Holding her): When do you have to go back?
Julia (Resting in his arms): I'm working here now.
Alonzo (He lets go of her): You're what?!
Julia: They need me; you saw how crazy it was today.
Alonzo: Honey you haven't seen anything yet. You don't know what this place can do to you. Go home.
Julia: No.
Alonzo: I don't want you here.
Julia: Your body does.
Alonzo: I want you safe at home.
Julia: I can't go back knowing that I'm needed here.
Alonzo: I can't lose you.
Julia: You won't. (She kisses him).
Alonzo: Julia.
Julia: How long is your R&R?
Alonzo: Forty-eight hours.
Julia: We only have two days together; let's not waste them. (They make love again).
Scene 5: One month later in New Pacifica, at Devon's.
Devon: Are you okay?
Baines: Why wouldn't I be?
Yale: You've been too quiet, even for you, ever since you arrived home.
Baines: People change.
Devon: What happened over there?
Baines: You don't want to know.
Devon: I've read all of the letters I've received from John, Julia, and Alonzo. It can't be any worse than what they've told me.
Baines: It's good that they can talk about it, but I don't want to. (Enter the children). Hey, do you two want to go get some ice cream or something? It's on me.
True: Sure.
Uly: Is it okay mom?
Devon: Sure, go have fun. (Baines and the children leave).
Yale: I have a feeling that he's going to be okay.
Devon: What if you're wrong?
Yale: I'm not.
Devon: I hope Alonzo gets her pregnant; that way she'll have to come home whether she likes it or not.
Yale: Devon.
Devon: Well I do.
Yale: And what are your suggestions to get the others home?
Devon: I'm still working on that.
Yale: She's on birth control remember?
Devon: The pills can always become lost.
Yale: You're impossible.
Scene 6: Currently at the beach.
Jake: Hi.
Bess: Oh hi.
Jake: What brings you here?
Bess: I love the beach.
Jake: Yeah so do I, so what are you doing tonight?
Bess: I'm writing my husband a letter.
Jake: If you ever get lonely you know where I am.
Bess: Get a life. (She turns to leave; he grabs her. She becomes furious). Let me go now!!
Jake (Holding her): You don't understand no one turns me down. (She knees him in the groin and flees. He catches up to her and pins her to the ground. She screams, so he covers her mouth with his left hand). You don't want to be interrupted now do you?
Devon (Aiming a gun at him): Mister if you don't want your brains to be splattered all over the sand I suggest you let her go. (He lets her go and turns around to face Devon and Yale).
Jake: I was just kidding around.
Devon (Aiming a gun at him): Bess are you okay?
Bess (Trembling): Yeah.
Jake: Tell them that I was just kidding.
Bess (Trembling): He tried to rape me.
Jake: She's lying!! (Yale gets the police).
Scene 7: Later at Devon's while the kids are asleep.
Devon: Are you sure you're okay?
Bess: Yes.
Baines: Do you want me to kill him?
Bess: No.
Baines: Okay, I'll just beat him to a pulp would you like that?
Bess (She laughs): No, he'll get what's coming to him.
Yale: At least stay here tonight; I don't think you should be alone.
Bess: Okay. (She goes to bed).
Devon: She's not okay.
Baines: How do you know?
Devon: She's too calm.
Yale: Not everyone reacts the same way after an attack, so relax she'll be fine. (He goes to bed).
Baines: I always thought that he was an okay guy.
Devon: So did I. My God he watched True for me once.
Baines: She would've told you if something happened.
Devon: How do you know? (The next day she questions True, nothing happened).
Scene 8: One week later in one of the R&R and Hospital Zones, at the bar.
Julia: Are you okay?
Morgan (Upset): No I'm not okay.
Julia: What's wrong.
Morgan (Upset): Jake Anderson tried to rape my wife last week.
Julia (Furious): That sonofabitch.
Morgan (Upset): I'm going home.
Julia (Furious): Give her my love will you?
Morgan (Upset): Sure, you stay out of danger. (He hugs her and leaves. Several hours later. John and his infantry arrive. Julia tells him everything).
John: You should've gone with him.
Julia (Upset): She has Devon for female emotional support.
John: Don't you miss New Pacifica?
Julia (Upset): Yes but.
Soldier: Incoming!!
John: Get down!! (He pushes Julia to the ground, and shields her from harm. Eventually the bombing ceases, so he lets her up). Are you okay?
Julia (Terrified): Yeah are you?
John (Terrified): Yeah. (The soldier is lying in a pool of blood. She grabs her medical bag and heads over to him. Suddenly one of the enemy appears and fires a machine gun at her. She screams in pain and falls to the ground). No!! (He kills him in a rage, and rushes to Julia's side. Her clothes are covered with blood and her head's bleeding severely).
Julia (Crying from the pain): John?
John (He takes her in his arms): Sh don't talk save your strength.
Julia (Crying): Don't leave me.
John (Holding her): I won't. (He kisses the roots of her hair and tries to stop the bleeding. She passes out):. No, damn it Julia stay with me!! Somebody help me!! (He starts crying. The allies win the battle. Later while Julia's in surgery. Alonzo arrives, he doesn't know yet).
Alonzo (Worried): Where's Julia is she okay?
John (Crying): Alonzo.
Alonzo (Tears well in his eyes): Where is she?!
John (Crying): She's in surgery; she got shot. (Alonzo heads for the operating rooms, and tries to enter. An orderly stops him).
Alonzo (Crying): Let me go, Julia's in there!! Let me go!!
John (He hugs him): It's okay buddy; she's going to be okay. (He gets him to the waiting room).
Scene 9: Presently in New Pacifica. The battle made the evening news.
Morgan (Upset): John and Julia were there today.
Bess (Stunned): What?
Devon (In-shock): Oh my God. (The names of the dead and wounded scroll on the television screen. She starts crying):. Oh God no. (Yale holds her):.
Scene 10: One hour later in the waiting room.
Alonzo (Crying): What happened?
John (Upset): She was going to help a soldier who was wounded in the air raid, and out of nowhere one of those bastard council soldiers showed up and opened fire on her. I killed him.
Alonzo (Crying): Thanks.
John (Upset): Anytime.
Alonzo (Crying): I should've been here.
John (Upset): What could you have done? (A soldier comes over).
Soldier #2: Danzinger you have a phone call.
John (Upset): Tell them I busy.
Soldier #2: She's been trying to get through for over an hour. She says her name's Devon Adair. (He goes to answer it).
John (Upset): I guess you heard.
Devon (Crying): What happened; how bad is she hurt?
John (Upset): Pretty bad. (He tells her everything).
Devon (Crying): Does Alonzo know?
John (Upset): Yes.
Devon (Crying): How is he?
John (Upset): He's freaking out.
Devon (Crying): True wants to talk to you.
John (Upset): Put her on. (She does it. Two hours later the surgeon comes out. They go over to him):.
Alonzo (Upset): How's Julia?
Dr. Kramer: Lucky to be alive that's for sure. We took thirty-five bullets out of her.
John (Upset): Is she going to be okay?
Dr. Kramer: We repaired the repairable damage, but it still doesn't look good. She's lapsed into a deep coma. (Later in ICU).
Alonzo (Crying): Is it dangerous to move her?
Dr. Kramer: Not if it's done right why?
Alonzo (Crying): She's not safe here; I want her back home in New Pacifica. I'll be discharged tomorrow; I'll go with her and make sure they don't screw up.
Dr. Kramer: Okay. (A soldier comes in and hands John his discharge papers).
John (Upset): It looks like I'm coming with you.
Alonzo (Crying): Good, (he runs his fingers through her hair). We're getting out of here honey; we're going home. You're going to be okay now; I love you. (He kisses her).

Earth 2 - The War (Act two)
Scene 1: One week later in New Pacifica, at the hospital in ICU.
Devon (Upset): Why is she on a respirator?
Alonzo (Upset): She can't breathe on her own yet.
Devon (Upset): Oh my God.
Alonzo (Upset): Devon she's going to get better. (She goes over to her).
Devon (Upset): I told you no heroics. Why didn't you listen to me? (She starts crying). Please come back to us Julia please. (John holds her).
Alonzo (Upset): Devon listen to me, I know you're scared. I'm scared too, but she's not going to die. If you keep crying like this I'll start crying.
Devon (Crying): I can't help it. (He hugs her. Currently outside her room).
Baines (Upset): She never should've been there in the first place.
Yale (Upset): No, none of you should've been there. What happened to Julia could've happened to anybody.
Baines (Upset): I know, so how are the kids holding up?
Yale (Upset): About as well as we are.
Baines (Upset): That bad huh? (He gets a cup of coffee. John comes out). How is she man?
John (Upset): The doctors say she's getting worse, but ignore them they don't know Julia's strength. (He gets a cup of coffee). Where's True?
Yale (Upset): She's at the Martin's.
John (Upset): Tell Devon I'll be back in a few hours.
Yale (Upset): Okay. (He goes to see True).
Scene 2: Later that night at the Solace's.
Alonzo (Upset): The flowers are blooming you took great care of them. (He picks up his and Julia's wedding picture and gazes at it). I keep thinking that she's going to walk through that door any minute now.
Devon (Upset): Why don't you come and stay at my house, there's too many memories here.
Alonzo (Upset): I like memories; they keep me sane.
Devon (Upset): She's not going to die.
Alonzo (Upset): Then why do I feel like I'll never feel her arms around me again? (He starts crying; she holds him).
John (Upset): You guys are going to have a family and grow old together, and you're going to spoil your grandchildren rotten.
Alonzo (He laughs): You got that right. Thanks for destroying the negative vibes.
John (Upset): Anytime.
Alonzo (Upset): How are your kids doing? They must be scared out of their minds right now; maybe I should talk to them.
Devon (Upset): Actually they're being very brave about this.
Alonzo (Upset): Are you sure it's not an act?
Devon (Upset): No.
Alonzo (Upset): Then go home your son needs you.
Devon (Upset): I don't know.
Alonzo (Upset): I'll be okay. (She hugs him, and then her and John leave).
Scene 3: Later that night at John's house on the dream plane.
John: Julia no don't go to him!!
Julia: He's hurt John; he needs me. (The council soldier appears).
John: No not again!!
True: Dad, dad? (She wakes him).
John (He hugs her): How are you doing sweetheart?
True (Upset): You had another nightmare.
John (Upset): I know.
True (Upset): Was it the same one?
John (Upset): Yes.
True (Upset): You need to see someone.
John (Upset): No I don't honey.
True (Upset): You saw one of your best friends get shot. Please see a therapist, please.
John (Upset): Okay.
True (Upset): Promise?
John (Upset): Yes. (She hugs him).
Scene 4: Meanwhile at Devon's.
Uly (Upset): You're still up mom?
Devon (Upset): I can't sleep; what are you doing up?
Uly (Upset): I had a bad dream.
Devon (Upset): What was it about?
Uly (Upset): Julia died.
Devon (Upset): That's not going to happen.
Uly (Upset): It's a possibility.
Devon (Upset): No it's not.
Uly (Upset): You have to accept it mom. (He goes back to bed).
Devon (Upset): The hell I do. (She falls asleep).
Scene 5: Presently at the Martin's.
Morgan (Upset): How are you doing?
Bess (Upset): There is no God.
Morgan (Upset): Yes there is.
Bess (Upset): No there isn't.
Morgan (Upset): How else can you explain Julia surviving all of those bullets?
Bess (Upset): Being on life support isn't living.
Morgan (Upset): Her brain is still functioning.
Bess (Upset): For how long?
Morgan (Upset): Stop it.
Bess (Upset): We have to face the facts here.
Morgan (Upset): Julia's going to be okay and the hell with the facts!! (He goes outside; she goes after him).
Bess (Upset): I'm sorry.
Morgan (Upset): Me too. (They make up).
Scene 6: The next morning at the Solace's.
Alonzo (Half-asleep): Honey is it time to get up yet? (He reaches for her and grabs the sheet instead. Then it all comes rushing back to him). Oh God it wasn't a nightmare. (He starts crying).
Scene 7: Later at the hospital in ICU.
Nurse: You can't go in there.
Alonzo (Upset): Why not?
Nurse: Your wife's getting worse. She went into cardiac arrest; the doctors are working on her right now.
Alonzo (Close to crying): Is she going to make it?
Nurse: I'll let you know as soon as I know. (She goes back in there; he starts crying. Enter John and Devon).
Devon (Upset): What happened?
Alonzo (Crying): She had a heart attack.
John (Upset): She's too young to be having heart attacks.
Alonzo (Crying): In her condition she's susceptible to almost anything. It's going to be awhile before they tell us what's going on.
Devon (Upset): Do you need anything?
Alonzo (Crying): Yeah my wife. (He goes to get some fresh air).
John (Upset): Whoever said war is honorable has shit for brains. Oh sorry.
Devon (Upset): Don't worry I've heard worse; I promised Alonzo that I'd keep her here.
John (Upset): She's not a child; there was no way to stop her.
Devon (Upset): I could've kidnapped her.
John (Upset): Yeah right, you respect human life too much to ever do that.
(Two hours later).
Alonzo (Upset): How is she?
Dr. Meyer: She's still alive; however, Pneumonia has set in. We're giving her penicillin to fight it, but I don't think her lungs can take it.
Alonzo (Upset): If she's going to die tell me right now.
Dr. Meyer: She still has a chance; she's putting up one hell of a fight in there.
Alonzo (Upset): What are the odds?
Dr. Meyer: She has a five percent chance of surviving.
Devon (Upset): So improve the odds; You're a doctor that's your job isn't it?
Dr. Meyer: I'm not God.
John (Upset): Devon he's doing the best he can. (Alonzo goes to see her. Meyer goes to check on another patient).
Devon (Upset): I'll be right back.
John (Upset): Where are you going?
Devon (Upset): To find Julia a better doctor. (She goes to make some phone calls. Moments later in Julia's hospital room).
Alonzo (Upset): I know how badly you're hurt, and I know how sick you are. If it becomes too much for you just let go. Don't get me wrong I don't want to lose you, but I love you too much to see you suffer like this. (He kisses her. One hour later in the waiting room).
John (Upset): Well?
Devon (Upset): Dr. Meyer's the best. What are we going to do? We can't let her die.
John (Upset): She might be better off if she dies.
Devon (Upset): Don't you ever say that again.
John (Upset): Devon she's not getting better.
Devon (Upset): That can change.
John (Upset): I think it's time that we prepared for the worst.
Devon (Upset): Why didn't you send her home?
John (Upset): Excuse me.
Devon (Upset): You could've convinced her.
John (Upset): Why won't you accept the fact that we might lose her.
Devon (Close to crying): Because she's my friend!! (He holds her).
Scene 8: One month later, the allies win the war and the cleanup begins. Julia's still in a coma, but her lungs have healed and she can breathe on her own again. On the dreamscape.
Commander: You look tired.
Julia: I am; I can't fight anymore.
Commander: But you're almost there.
Julia: I don't have any strength left. They would've been better off if I would've died instantly. Alonzo's heart is breaking, and Devon's falling apart.
Commander: Your death will kill them.
Julia: Seeing me lying helpless in that hospital bed is already killing them.
Commander: Just fight a little while longer please.
Julia: I can't. (She collapses from exhaustion).
Commander: Give her more strength please. It can't be her time to go already; don't take her. (God gives her more energy. Later in ICU. Alonzo's asleep).
Devon (Upset): We won the war, so the council is ancient history. They gave you a purple heart, and the guy you were trying to save survived he sent you some flowers. He would've came but he can't get around much anymore. You're going to be okay Julia; the doctor says your condition is improving every day. You'll wake up eventually I promise, so if you're scared don't be. (She kisses her; enter Bess).
Bess (Upset): How's she doing?
Devon (Upset): She's uttering a few words every now and then but she's still in a coma.
Bess: Does that mean she's getting better?
Devon (Upset): Well uh.
Bess: Oh Devon (she hugs her): that's great. Wait a minute why aren't you happy?
Devon (Upset): Let's go over there. (They go to the other side of the room). She might be getting better, but it can still go either way. I don't want her to know that she still might die; it might cause her to stop fighting.
Bess (Upset): Have you told her yet?
Devon (Upset): I never got a chance to.
Bess (Upset): She has a right to know.
Devon (Upset): It might anger her.
Bess (Upset): It didn't anger you.
Devon (Upset): She's a totally different person than I am.
Bess (Upset): You should still tell her what you discovered. She has a right to know that you two have the same father.
Devon (Upset): Knowing that her mother cheated on the father who actually raised Julia might destroy her.
Bess (Upset): Or she might be thrilled to find out that she has a sister and a nephew.
Alonzo (He awakens): What's this? (Devon tells him everything). It won't bring her out of it.
Devon (Upset): Why not?
Alonzo (Upset): Julia found out last year about all of this. She didn't tell you because she was afraid that it would hurt you, knowing that your father cheated on your mother.
Devon (She starts laughing): Oh my God.
Bess (Upset): You two should really communicate more.
Devon (Upset): Yes we should. (She goes over to her). Julia it's okay I know, and I'm not mad. I'm glad I have a sister. I just wish he would've told me about you. It was pretty lonely growing up. Every time something went wrong in my house my parents always knew who did it. (She pushes her hair back and becomes alarmed). Alonzo she's burning up. (He gets the doctor; he brings her fever down). What's wrong with her?
Dr. Meyer: Nothing.
Alonzo (Upset): What do you mean nothing?
Dr. Meyer: This happens sometimes when the human body is fighting to recover.
Julia (Groggy): I could've told you that.
Alonzo (Excited): Oh my God. Julia? Are you awake Julia? (Her eyes open).
Julia (She smiles at him): Yeah I'm awake. You really need to shave babe. (He laughs. They kiss and hug. Devon and Bess hug her). Just one question?
Alonzo: What is it?
Julia (Weak): Why can't I feel my legs?
Devon (Upset): What's going on here? You said there wasn't any damage? (He examines her and orders a spinal examination, after the results come in).
Julia (Anxious): Well?
Dr. Meyer: The paralysis is only temporary, by tomorrow it'll be gone. (She sighs in relief. Later that night she's out of ICU and in a regular hospital room now).
Julia: We need to talk.
Devon: Yes we do; I know.
Julia: I know that you know; I heard everything you said. I'm sorry I didn't tell you when I found out.
Devon: It's okay.
Julia: No it's not; you had every right to know.
Devon: Yeah well it's impossible for me to be mad at you right now; I almost lost you. (She hugs her. Enter John).
John: Devon why didn't you tell me?
Devon: I never told anybody; Bess was there when I found out.
John: Yeah but I'm the man you're going to end up with.
Devon: Excuse me.
Julia: Do you two want to be alone?
John: Don't move, you're supposed to resting. I love you Devon I always have.
Devon: I love you too but.
Julia: But nothing, you love him and he loves you. What's the problem? (John and Devon kiss. Moments later). Have you told Uly?
Devon: Yes, I told him a couple of days ago.
Julia: How did he take it?
Devon: He said that he always knew; it was so weird.
Julia: But how?
John: Maybe it has something to do with the Terrians.
Julia: Yeah maybe. (She falls asleep. John and Devon leave).
Devon: Are you still having nightmares?
John: No, how did you know about that?
Devon: True told me she was worried about you. You never went to see a therapist.
John: They went away anyway. (They go home. Currently in Julia's hospital room, enter Alonzo).
Nurse: Go home she needs her rest.
Alonzo: I won't wake her I promise.
Nurse: Go home.
Alonzo: Please. (He flashes her a smile).
Nurse: Okay but be quiet. (She leaves the room).
Scene 9: Later at the Martin's.
Morgan: The trial's tomorrow.
Bess: I know.
Morgan: Are you okay?
Bess: Yes, Julia gave me a pep talk.
Morgan: Good, she's still the same.
Bess: I can't believe how negative I was.
Morgan: You're only human. (They make love).
Scene 10: Presently at Devon's, in Uly's bedroom.
Uly: When can I see her?
Devon: Tomorrow.
Uly: Good, is she really okay now? She was sick for a long time.
Devon: Yes she's okay, goodnight honey.
Uly: Goodnight. (She kisses him, turns off the light, and goes downstairs).
Yale: She's entitled to half of your inheritance.
Devon: She won't take it.
Yale: She does have brain damage.
Devon: That's not funny.
Yale: What if she needs it one day?
Devon: I'll force her to take it.
Yale: Good, now what's going on with you and John? (She tells him). It's about time. I'm sorry that it took you two three years to admit it.
Scene 11: Two weeks later, Jake received twenty years in prison, at the Solace's.
Alonzo: What are you doing?
Julia: I'm pouring myself a drink what does it look like?
Alonzo: I'm supposed to do that for you. You're supposed to be taking it easy.
Julia: Honey you're exhausted. (She sits down beside him).
Alonzo: I'm not the one who might have a relapse.
Julia: True.
Alonzo: He did say we could well you know.
Julia: I don't want to.
Alonzo: Why not? You always want to.
Julia: I don't want you to see me like that anymore.
Alonzo: Julia, you're alive that's all that matters to me.
Julia: Yeah well it bothers me. (She goes to their bedroom; he goes after her).
Alonzo: You have to look sometime.
Julia: No I don't.
Alonzo: It won't be as bad as you think it is. I bet the scars are barely noticeable.
Julia: Okay. (He helps her undress). You were right. (She undresses him and they make love, afterwards). What are we supposed to do with ourselves now that the war is over and all is right with the world?
Alonzo: We can spoil our nephew; we can make a few kids of our own.
Julia: Sounds good, or we can just stay right here for the rest of our lives.
Alonzo: Sounds better. (They make love again).
Scene 12: Meanwhile at the beach.
True: Do you think our parents will get married?
Uly: Yes, in a year or so. I don't see him.
True: Who?
Uly: Trevor, weren't you looking for him?
True: That's private Uly.
Uly: He likes you too.
True: Really?
Uly: Yes. (He comes over).
Trevor: Hi.
True: Hi.
Trevor: Do you want to go for a walk or something?
True: Sure.
Uly: I have to go home. I'll see you later. (He leaves. Trevor and True go for a walk. Uly goes over to John and Devon). They want to be alone.
John: She's too young to be alone with him.
Uly: Don't worry he's safe; besides he's too afraid of you to try anything. (Devon laughs; John dumps a bucket of sea water on her. She screams and retaliates. They get in a water fight).
Scene 13: One year later at their wedding reception. True catches the bouquet and Trevor catches the garter.
John: Wait five years okay.
Trevor: Yes sir.
John: Don't call me sir; my father is sir.
Julia: Don't believe him kid it's a setup.
John: Ha ha.
Devon (She whispers in his ear): Honey let's get out of here. (They escape to their honeymoon. One hour later).
Alonzo: How's she doing?
Julia: I think we better take her home; she's getting cranky.
Morgan: Maybe she's cutting a tooth.
Julia (She picks up her and Alonzo's baby, Chelsea): That won't happen for another month or so. Hey angel, (she cries): sh it's okay mommy's here. (She kisses her, and the baby falls asleep. They take her home).
Scene 14: Later in New Paris, France in a honeymoon suite.
John: You'll probably want to divorce me in the morning.
Devon: Oh no, you're not getting away from me that easily. You're stuck with me.
John: Good. (He grabs her and kisses her).
