This idea just popped into my head, and the story just developed from there. This is a Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny romance story. It is set on a tropical Island about a year after they have all left Hogwarts. They are the only ones living on the Island (that's Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Fred and George) I hope you like it, please review! Disclaimer: Okay, okay, I hate doing these, but I have to otherwise everyone will shout at me. Here goes: Everything you recognise from the Harry Potter books belongs to Joanne Kathleen Rowling. The book 'What Katy Did' is by Susan M. Coolidge. If you think that either of these belongs to me, you are strange. I Had A Dream It was a beautiful hot sunny day, and Harry Potter was lying beside the swimming pool in his back yard. He had a tall glass of Gillywater resting on his chest, and a packet of 'Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans' open beside him. It was funny, thought Harry, that he had ended up living on a tropical island with his best friends. After he had left Hogwarts, Dumbledore had advised him to immigrate to another country, so he could escape the grasp of You-Know-Who. So far things were working out okay, but it was only a matter of time before Ron and Hermione had another big row, and before Fred and George had blown up another toilet. He was speculating these things when his friends came outside. They were all wearing their bathing suits, as he was. Hermione had tanned a dark brown, and really looked quite beautiful, but she wasn't the one that Harry liked in that way, not really. He took a deep drink of his Gillywater, but spat it out again as he saw Ginny. She was wearing a silver bikini, and she had done her hair up, but so that a few curls were left hanging around her face. If Hermione had looked beautiful, then Ginny looked astounding. He shook his head, he had to focus! They all came and sat in sun loungers near him, except Ron and Hermione who climbed into the pool and began swimming. Fred and George put on identical pairs of sunglasses, so you could not tell who was who. Ginny took out a book. It was called What Katy Did. Harry had never heard of it before. "What did Katy do?" he asked Ginny. "What? Oh, I don't know, I've only just started it." Replied Ginny. "Oh. Is it good?" "Yes, so far, I've got to the part when Katy has just lost her bonnet." Said Ginny. "Oh." Said Harry again. "Who wrote it?" "Susan M. Coolidge." Said Ginny without looking up. "Oh." Replied Harry, yet again. 'What is with me?' he asked himself 'Why am I doing this? I've always been able to talk to Ginny normally before, she's the one who has a crush on me, not the other way around!' but these thoughts did not comfort him. He decided to tear his thoughts away from Ginny for a while, and instead concentrated on Ron and Hermione. They were having a furious water fight from either end of the pool. They looked like they were having fun. Harry lay back in his lounger and stared up at the piercingly blue sky. A dark shape was moving towards the villa, it was still quite a way off, and Harry couldn't make out what it was. As it came closer, Harry could see that it was a beautiful colourful parrot. It had a large parchment letter grasped in its beak. It swooped down over the villa and landed on Harry's shoulder, it's claws digging into his bare skin. "Hello," he said, "what do you want?" As if in answer, the bird dropped the letter it was holding into Harry's lap, and took off, scraping it's claws on his shoulder causing it to bleed. "Ow!" he said. "What's wrong?" asked Ginny looking up from her book. "A parrot just came and delivered this letter, and his claws dug into my shoulder." Said Harry. "Ooh, this cut looks quite deep, let me sort it out for you." She came and knelt down by Harry and used her wand to magic some antiseptic and plasters. "Hey, birdbrain! You're a witch!" said George. "Oh yeah!" said Ginny. She took her wand, held it to Harry's cut and said 'mendus'. The blood and cut disappeared. Ginny smiled and ran her fingers over the place where the cut had been. Her touch made Harry feel all tingly inside. "There. Is that better?" she asked. "Yes thanks." Harry replied. "So, who's the letter from?" asked Fred lifting his glasses to look at Harry. "Oh, yeah, the letter." said Harry. In the confusion, he had forgotten about the letter. He slid his fingers under the seal and took the letter from the envelope. He began to read it out loud. "Dear Mr Potter and Friends, Our school, Robertson's College of Magic is having its annual ball on the fifth July. We would be honoured if you could come. It would mean so much to us, the small school that we are, to have a famous face in the crowd. Partners are required. Please could you reply to us as soon as possible? Thankyou. Yours Graciously Ida Robertson Headmistress" "Well. What do you make of that?" asked George. "Shall we go?" asked Fred. "Partners are required," said Ron, "How are we going to manage that? There are only two girls on this entire Island!" "Well, we can't go with Ginny," said George indicating himself, Fred and Ron, "so that leaves you Harry. "Hermione can go with Ron." said Fred, grinning devilishly. "What if I don't want to go with her?" asked Ron indignantly. "Look Ron, you have to!" said George impatiently. "Well what about you two, eh? It says partners are required, that means you have to have a partner." replied Ron. "We know that, we can use a spell!" said George. He raised his wand, and cried "Accio Alicia!" "Hey, great idea!" said Fred, he too raised his wand and said "Accio Angelina!" Everybody looked up at the sky expectantly. Soon, two girls came flying through the air, and landed in the swimming pool with a splash. "How come I can't use a spell too?" asked Ron. "Because then Hermione wouldn't have anyone to go with. Stupid!" replied Fred. "But, but!" cried Ron. "Oh fine! So now I'm not good enough for you to take to a dance, am I? You'd rather have someone who is pretty, wouldn't you! Yes, I know I'm not pretty, but there's no need to rub it in!" cried Hermione, and with that, she stormed off into the villa. "Oh really great Ron, here we are on a tiny Island with no where to go, and you have to go and put your foot in it." said Ginny, and she too ran into the Villa, obviously to try and comfort Hermione. "Nice one Ron." said Fred sarcastically. "Yeah thanks, now we're going to have to listen to her moaning for the rest of the day!" said George. Ron stared open mouthed at the group, and then he too stormed off into the Villa. Fred and George then helped Angelina and Alicia out of the pool, and dried them off with a wave of their wands. "What are we doing here?" asked a bewildered Alicia. "We needed dates for a ball." said George simply, and the two girls seemed to accept this as a reasonable explanation. Alicia and Angelina lay down in two of the empty loungers and lay back to enjoy the sun. "I can't believe Ron, he really knows how to put his foot in it doesn't he? He knows how touchy Hermione can be." said Harry. "Yeah," replied George idly, "but I didn't notice you objecting to going with Ginny, I thought you would, you know how annoying she can be." "Well I didn't want to cause any trouble." said Harry. He hoped this sounded convincing, because really, he didn't mind going with Ginny, not one bit. "Yeah sure," said Fred, "I saw you ogling her when she came out here." "I was not!" said Harry. 'Please don't go red now, please don't go red now.' he thought to himself. "Sure." said George almost lazily. "It's true!" * * * "Ooh I really hate Ron!" said Hermione to no one in particular. "Yeah, I know, I can be a real jerk sometimes, can't I?" Ron stood in the doorway. He grinned almost apologetically. "Ron!" said Hermione surprised. "I'm sorry, Hermione, I didn't mean it that way, you know I'd love to go to the ball with you." "Ron, you're mad!" Hermione grinned. "Friends?" Ron asked. "Definitely." replied Hermione, and she flung her arms round Ron's neck. Their hug lasted longer than it perhaps should have, and as they drew apart, Hermione could feel Ron's eyes boring through her. "Ron I-" "Shhh." Ron put his finger to her lips, and then they kissed. "Hermione? I just came to see if you were all right-" Ginny stopped, "oh," she said as she saw Ron and Hermione. "I guess you are." Ginny ran down the stairs and bumped into Harry who was coming up the stairs. "Sorry Harry," she said glancing up, "you'll never guess what I just saw!" "Umm, Professor Snape dressed as Neville's Grandmother?" Harry guessed. "No! Don't be stupid. I just saw Ron and Hermione, and they were, you know, kissing!" Ginny giggled. "Did you just say what I thought you said?" asked Harry. "Did you just say that Ron and Hermione, the two people who have had more rows than anyone actually kissed?" "Yep! Wait 'til I tell Fred and George!" Ginny dashed off in the direction of the pool. 'Who'd have thought it? Ron and Hermione?' said Harry to himself. * * * "Well, goodnight everyone, I'm off to bed." said Ginny happily. She'd just had the best night of her life, Fred and George had teased Ron mercifully, and he looked as though he'd be red forever. She hurried up to her room. The Villa was so large that there was enough space for everyone to have their own room. No one had to share with anyone. 'But,' she thought, 'sharing with a certain someone wouldn't be so bad.' she smiled inwardly, glad that her brothers couldn't see what she was thinking. She climbed into her bed and drifted off to sleep. The next morning was sunny and bright, and Ginny awoke with a strange feeling. She had had a very weird dream last night, and she had to tell someone about it. She decided that she didn't particularly want to tell her brothers; they'd make fun of her, and there was no way she could tell Harry, no way. So that left Hermione. She'd always been able to tell Hermione anything, she was a kind of big sister to her. She got dressed and tried to tame her unruly hair. She then walked up to Hermione's room, and knocked on the door. "Come in," said Hermione's voice from inside. "Hi Hermione, it's me." said Ginny. "Oh, hi Gin," she said, and then caught sight of Ginny's troubled face, "what's wrong?" "Oh, it's nothing much, I just had a really weird dream last night, some sort of premonition." "Not turning into Harry are we?" Hermione joked. To her surprise, Ginny started crying. "Hey Gin, it can't be that bad, I mean, dreams don't always come true you know." Hermione said, she had always thought any sort of Divination to be stupid. "It was that bad." Ginny gasped. "Do you want to tell me?" Hermione asked. Ginny nodded. "I was having a swim in the pool, when this thing came flying through the air and landed beside me, with a big splash. I was scared so I climbed out, and the thing followed me. I was really surprised when I saw that it was a house elf. I asked the elf it's name and it said 'You is not knowing my name! My name is Dobby, and I is Harry Potter's friend.' I asked it what it wanted with me, and it said 'Begging your pardon miss, but I is not entitled to be telling you that, but I is thinking that this letter will explain it.' Then it gave me a letter. Then it said 'I is awfully sorry miss, but Dobby is having to go now miss, and don't be upset miss, because you is who Harry Potter loves the best.' Then it disappeared." Ginny said the last word with a sob. "It's just a dream Ginny, nothing is going to happen." Hermione put a comforting arm around her. "But it seemed so real, and," Ginny faltered, "I found this under my pillow when I woke up." She handed Hermione an envelope. Hermione opened it and read the content in silence. Dear Miss, I is a humble house elf going by the name of Dobby. I is too cowardly to be telling you in person, so I is thinking I should write it down. Harry Potter is going to die by the work of a man called Wormtail. I is sorry to be the one who is having to tell you, and I is thinking that you is the best to be telling as it is you who Harry Potter is loving the best. Harry Potter is being killed on the fifth July at a dance. There is only one way of stopping the man called Wormtail, and that is to be showing Harry Potter that you is loving him too, because nothing is being stronger than the bond of love. I is humbly sorry for troubling you, and I is having to go now. Dobby "Is this the letter the elf gave you in your dream?" breathed Hermione. Ginny nodded fearfully. "Oh Ginny! I don't know what to say! Do you think we should tell Harry?" said Hermione. "No." replied Ginny. The two girls sat in silence for a few minutes, silent tears running down Ginny's cheeks. "Do you love him?" Hermione asked quietly. Ginny nodded, the tears streaming down her face harder than ever. "That's okay then, it says in the letter that he won't be killed if you love him." said Hermione. "I know, but how do I show that I love him?" Ginny asked. "Just do what comes naturally, and you'll be fine." said Hermione. "I don't want him to die!" cried Ginny. "He won't, but it's up to you," Hermione gave Ginny a quick hug, "come on, we have to go down to breakfast, the boys will be wondering where we are." Ginny gave her a watery smile. She stood up and dried her eyes. At that moment, someone knocked on the door. The someone pushed it open. It was Harry. "Come, on, it's time for breakfast," he said cheerfully, "you all right?" he asked Ginny noticing her red blotchy face. "Yes I'm fine," she lied. She smiled at him, "come on, then, lets go." She was smiling on the outside, but on the inside she was aching. His green eyes had looked so full of concern, how could she live if he died? It was up to her to make sure he didn't die, but she wasn't really sure how she was supposed to go about it. * * * Two days later saw the night of the dance on the next Island. Ginny was nervous. Tonight she would have to face the unknown to stop Harry dieing. She had tried to make herself look as nice as possible. She was wearing floaty blue robes and she had her hair up again, letting a few curls fall around her face. She descended the stairs slowly, dreading what was going to happen. Harry didn't feel that confident either. He was going to a dance with Ginny, the person he had fallen for, and he hadn't even had the bother of asking her, it had been arranged like this. He looked up at the stairwell as Ginny came down. "How do I look?" she asked. "Enchanting." replied Harry. Ginny gave him a strange look. "Shall we go then? Everyone else already has." asked Ginny. Harry nodded. "Okay, after three, one two three." with a small pop, they disapperated and then apparated on the Island next to theirs, where the dance was being held. Harry took Ginny's hand in his and walked into the large hall, where the dance was being held. The hall wasn't as large as the one at Hogwarts, but it had the same sort of enchanted ceiling. As they entered the hall, a silence fell and many of the students looked at his hairline, where the lightning shaped scar was. After a few seconds, a thin woman came over to them. The noise resumed. "I am Professor Ida Robertson, the headmistress of Robertson's College of Magic. Welcome." Ida had a sharp cold voice, unlike any Harry had heard before. "Come this way." she said. Harry and Ginny followed Ida to a large table where Fred, George, Angelina, Alicia, Ron and Hermione were already seated. She led them to the centre of the table and instructed them to sit. Ida then stood up, and waved her hands. Immediately, the hall fell silent. "I would like you all to resume to your seats. The feast will now begin." she waved her hands again, and food appeared on the tables. "Tuck in." she said to the students. The food was marvellous, and it wasn't very long before it had all been eaten. Once again Ida stood up, waved her hands, and silence fell. "I hope you all enjoyed the feast. The dance will now begin." She waved her arms and the tables and chairs disappeared. Music began playing from somewhere. "Shall we dance?" Harry asked Ginny. She nodded mutely. Harry led her onto the dance floor. He put one arm around her waist and the other on her shoulder. They began to dance, spinning around. Neither said anything, they just stared into each other's eyes. They were still dancing four songs later, and were enjoying themselves thoroughly. Ginny had even forgotten about Dobby's warning. The happiness wasn't to last though. The music faltered, and the hall fell silent, but this time it was not Ida's doing. A short fat man wearing robes of black entered the hall. He pushed his way through the crowd, and made his way to where Harry and Ginny were standing. The crowd encircled the three of them watching intently. Ginny was trembling. "What do you want?" asked Harry. "I have orders to kill you." said the man, who was unmistakably Wormtail. The crowd gasped. "What?" replied Harry. "I am going to kill you Harry Potter, nice and slowly." replied Wormtail. "I should have let them kill you when I had the chance!" cried Harry. "But you didn't, did you. And this time there's no one to save you, unless you count that pathetic piece of scum!" he spat at Ginny's feet. "When you save someone's life, you don't expect them to kill you!" said Harry. Most of the crowd didn't have a clue what he was talking about, only Ron and Hermione knew. "Yes, but I am not ordinary. You only stopped them killing me because they were your Father's friends, but I was also your Fathers friend, I helped kill him, and now I shall kill you." said Wormtail, a smile playing on his lips. "Nothing can save you." He raised his wand and pointed it at Harry. "It's time to die Harry Potter." "Ginny, I never had time to tell you before," said Harry hurriedly, "I love you, I always have, and I always will, don't ever forget me." "Avadis Kedavras!" shouted Wormtail. A shot of purple light came out of his wand. It hit Harry, and he fell. Harry knew what Wormtail was doing, he was using the Avada Kedavra curse in a different way, he was using the curse that killed slowly, draining all their energy, and causing them great pain. He could feel Ginny's arms around him, he could hear her crying, he could just see the outline of her vivid red hair. She was saying something. "I love you Harry, I won't ever forget you, I love you." she lay her head upon him and cried. Harry felt himself floating. He could still hear Ginny's voice. She was still crying. Slowly, her voice echoed away into nothing. Harry looked around him. He could see a woman with long red hair, and a man with messy black hair, not unlike his own. His parents. They smiled at him. "Harry, it is not time yet. You must return. She needs you, can you not see?" said his mother "Go back Harry." said his Dad. The ghostly forms of Lily and James took him by his arms, and guided him back. He could hear voices again. He could hear girls crying and boys shouting. He opened his eyes and everything came back into focus. He saw Ginny still crying, leaning over him, and beyond her he could see Ron, Hermione, Fred and George. They were all pale, and Hermione was crying. "He's opened his eyes, look!" he heard an unfamiliar voice say. He felt Ginny sit up, and stare into his eyes. "Harry, you're alive!" she said. "Shhh." said Harry. He pulled her closer and kissed her. The kiss lasted a long time, and when they broke apart, Ginny began to cry again. "Shhh, I'm here now, it's all right, I'll never leave you again." said Harry. They kissed again, and didn't pull apart for a long time.
