AUTHOR'S NOTES:
Hi it's Ellie again. People have been asking for my little
scene for some reason:) and I can't get it to some. So
I thought I'd just bite the bullet and post it to this list.
Don't flame me too hard...

Authors notes: This is just a little scene that came
into my mind this morning and wouldn't leave til I wrote
it down. It's just silly stuff, 4th of July stuff. 
I apologize to any English list members if Kris comes
off sounding a bit stupid but that's just the way she wanted 
to be today :)
These characters are not mine. If they were Jon and Katie
would be dating, Nathan and Kristin  would be married
and the first season would never have ended.

In the wardroom Bridger and Westphalen sit alone talking

Westphalen : (Distaste) A what?

Bridger: A picnic.

Westphalen: That's what I though you said.
  Whatever for?

Bridger: The fourth of July.(Westphalen gives the why
  me sigh) I know you didn't have that holiday growing up...

Westphalen: Indeed I didn't. What,(laugh) 
  "Thanks we didn't really want that damn continent anyways?"
  (Ortiz and Shan come in)

Bridger: (ignoring her previous companion) I assure you it's fun.

Westphalen: Mr.Ortiz, Mr. Shan as the only other non
  American members of this crew I implore you..."

Shan: Sorry, my mother is American so I got stuck with it too...

Ortiz: And my father was a diplomat so we used to go to the
  4th celebration at the embassy

Westphalen: (beneath her breath) Damn

Ford: (comes in and hears Westphalen's last remarks and
  mimics a shot gun pointed right at her) Presence of the enemy

Westphalen: (drily) Excuse me but I seem to misplace my
  bayonet.(Hitchcock comes in with Lucas following behind)

Bridger: (Equitably) No shooting senior officers during staff meetings
  (To Katie) Now about that potato salad...

Westphalen: (teasing looking at Ford as she gives the next line)
  Just because you didn't have the privilage of being born English...

*Boos hisses laughter all good natured*

Westphalen: (Continuing laying it on thick) Morally, physically,
  and socially supieor...

All: Sit down!

Westphalen: (Grin) And now you're just all Yanks

Ford: Limey

Westphalen: (Arches an eyebrow in Ford's direction)
  Who wants a sparkler down their drawers?
  (Krieg and O'Neill enter snicker at Ford's discomfiture)

Bridger: Break it up you two. (To Katie) Now you're bringing
  the potato salad?

Katie: Yes sir

Bridger: (To Krieg) And you're bringing the fireworks?

O'Neill: (whisper to Krieg) I thought fireworks were illegal.

Krieg: (whispering back) They are...but he doesn't need to know
that. (To Bridger) Yes sir...
