The loneliness was getting to be too much to bear. Every time he went on shore leave with one of the guys, it was always one of them that got the girl. Even Lucas had more luck with women than he did. "This shore leave," Tim said to himself, "I'm going by myself. It's about time _I_ got someone." Then he sighed. "Who're you kidding, Tim? It'll never happen. You've never been _that_ lucky." He gets up from where he's sitting and walks over to a mirror. He takes a long look at himself. "Get real, Tim," he thought. "Look at yourself. What woman would ever want someone like you?" He checked his chronometer. 13:00 hours. He wasn't supposed to be on-duty for another hour. He decided to take a short nap before he was on duty. He lay down on his bed and immediately began to fall asleep. "Guess I'm more tired than I thought," he mumbled to himself as he drifted off to sleep. ****************** Tim woke up and looked around himself. "Where am I?" he thought. "Something tells me I'm not on _seaQuest_ anymore." He looked around and found that it was early morning and he was in a hotel room. He looked at the bed he was lying in. It was a double bed and the sheets opposite him were rumpled as if someone else had been sleeping there. Tim's mind started racing. What happened? How did he end up here? Was he _that_ restless that he ended up tossing and turning over the entire bed? The sound of a shower running broke his train of thought. "Someone's in here!" he thought. "What in Christ's name is going on?!" The shower stopped and a young brunette came out of the bathroom, with only a towel wrapped around her. "Tim, honey, you're awake. I thought you'd sleep forever!" She sat on the bed and kissed him passionately on the lips. Tim got a little flustered. He wasn't expecting this at all. He could hardly believe that for once in his life he'd actually gotten lucky and found a woman who wanted to be with him. The woman looked into Tim's eyes, then leaned over and began kissing him again, this time putting her arms around his neck. He was a little surprised at first, but it never showed as he took her into his arms and kissed her back, gently caressing her shoulders. His hands slid down her back, gently massaging her soft flesh, still wet from her shower. When he finally pulled away, he looked into her sparkling green eyes. They smiled at each other. He got up off the bed. "I'd better take a shower myself." He checks the clock. "I'm gonna have to get back to _seaQuest_ soon." "What?" The woman looked confused. "_seaQuest_. You've never heard of it?" Tim sounded surprised. "Only on T.V." She laughed lightly. "And even then, the show's only science-fiction. Are you an actor?" "No. I'm a lieutenant in the UEO Navy." Tim said, sitting down again. "Uh, the only UEO I know of is on the T.V. show and I think it's a little early for the UEO to actually be in existence." She thinks for a moment. "Yeah, it's too early. We've got at least another 20 years to go. God, I'll be so old!" Tim looked extremely nervous. "What year is it?" "1997." "What is this show you're talking about?" The woman looked at Tim, rather puzzled. "Is this guy for real?" she thought. "That would be "seaQuest DSV". Only the best show on T.V...'til NBC decided to play the pre-empting game with it." She frowned, but after a minute she smiled again. "But now SFC's showing it...even if it _is_ showing the second season. Talk about idiotic." At this point, Tim was _really_ confused. "SFC?" "Oh, Sci-Fi Channel." She grinned. "Best thing that coulda happened to "seaQuest". They certainly appeased all the Questies." Tim was getting exasperated. "What are Questies?" The woman patiently explained. "Questies are fans of the show. Some people call us obsessed, but y'know what? It really doesn't bother me." She paused and then decided to explain some more. "I'm also an EvilLucasFan." She grins, but when she sees Tim's shocked expression, she quickly explains. "An EvilLucasFan is a term coined by some Questies. ELFs, as most of us abbreviate it, are people who want to see Lucas hurt...in the worst way possible." Tim looked horrified. "Lucas is a great kid! How could _anyone_ want to hurt him?!" "Oh no, no! It's not what you're thinking! Trust me, I thought the same thing when I first heard it. No, EvilLucasFans actually love Lucas. Being an EvilLucasFan just means that we like seeing Lucas torn down so he can be built back up again, stronger than ever." Tim still looked confused, but he nodded, accepting what she was saying. "Of course, then there's also the TRIFC, the 'Kill the Ho Foundation', and other stuff related to the characters, too." She laughed. "I guess there's more Questies around the world than anyone ever imagined. "Okay, I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but what is the 'Kill the Ho Foundation'?" Tim decided not to even ask about the TRIFC. He was confused enough as it was. The woman was getting dressed. She looked back at him. "You had to ask about _that_, right?" She shuddered. "Why? What's the matter?" Tim looked concerned. "It's a society focused on the elimination of the _seaQuest_'s biggest enemy." She paused, wincing at the very thought of it. "Who is this enemy?" "_Ensign_ Lenore Ellen Henderson." "Lonnie?!" Tim squeaked. "What's wrong with Lonnie? She's so sweet." The woman nearly gagged. "You can't be serious..." "What's so wrong with her?" Tim sounded fiercely loyal to his crewmate. "Any woman who acts the way that she does and starts hitting on everything in her sight that contains a y-chromosome deserves to be shot on sight." There was a hint of venom mixed with disgust in her voice. Tim looked horrified. "How could you...why are you..." Tim paused and took a deep breath to calm himself down. He got up and walked to the window. After looking out for a moment, he turned to face the woman. "Sure, Lonnie may be somewhat of a flirt, but that doesn't mean..." The woman could see how upset this whole conversation was making Tim. She got up off the bed and crossed to where Tim was standing. She put her arms around him. "I'm sorry I brought it up, okay? What do you say we just drop the conversation." Tim sighed. "Yeah, sure," he said, putting his arms around her. He couldn't believe how suave he was being with her. It was coming so naturally to him, despite his limited experience with women. He pulled her close to him and held her for a few moments. Then he tilted her chin up and, still holding her close in his arms, kissed her softly on the lips. ****************** Tim nearly jumped out of bed when his alarm went off. He looked at the chronometer. He had fifteen minutes to get to the Bridge. He got up and made sure that he was awake enough, not to mention looking presentable enough, to be on the Bridge. "I can't believe that dream..." Tim said to himself. "It seemed _way_ too real." Tim left his quarters and started walking to the MagLev. On the way, he passed Lonnie. As he passed her, he shot her a glaring look, as opposed to his usual friendly smile. Lonnie stopped dead in her tracks. "Tim?" she called after him. "What was that for?" Tim didn't answer and continued walking. He reached the MagLev and once it arrived, he got in and sat down. The only other person on board was Ensign Faith Roberts. She had just arrived on _seaQuest_ a few days earlier. She looked vaguely familiar to Tim. "Um, Lieutenant," Faith hesitatingly said. "Would you mind if I asked you a question?" Tim smiled pleasantly. "Sure. Fire away." "By any chance do you know a woman named Sophie Lewis?" The name sounded slightly familiar. "Yeah, I think I might've met her somewhere before. Why? How do you know her?" Tim suddenly became suspicious. Faith smiled. "She's my mom. I think she might've dated someone in your family because she's got a picture of the two of them and the guy looks very much like you. I think she mentioned something about him having worked on _seaQuest_." Tim, who was looking down at his hands, looked up in surprise. "What else did she say about the guy?" "Well, she said that he was _really_ out-of-touch with things. He claimed to be from the future." She grinned. "No offense if you're related to him, Lieutenant, but the guy's gotta be a real nut case." Tim barely heard her because his mind was racing. "Do you have a picture of your mom with you?" He sounded almost scared, but tried to hide it. "Yeah, sure." She pulled out a picture of her mom and passed it to him. Tim took the picture and his eyes widened in surprise. This was the woman from his dream! "Lieutenant? Is something wrong?" Faith's words broke through his thoughts. "No. Everything's fine." Tim continued to stare at the picture. "You can keep it if you want," she offered. "I don't mind." "Thanks," Tim said and got off the MagLev as it reached the Bridge. He walked onto the Bridge, somewhat in a daze.
